Ok, I will admit I still have not taken the time to waterproof them but if I had, it would take no time at all. Since I have not and until I do, I transport the cushions in and out of the garage during bad weather.
You and your husband did a great job!!! I have seen some long pallets like you used here, but usually, I’ve never seen more than one at a time. When I see another long pallet, it’s never the same type of construction, so they wouldn’t stack together well. But, the same results are possible with a bunch of standard pallets.
This is GORGEOUS!!! I love working with pallets but had never thought of doing this, and I have the perfect space too!! Thanks for the inspo and such a detailed guide!
i think you’re a genius! that sectional pallet you designed is very lovely in your backyard. it looks so cool and relaxing to lie on. i should look on your other DIY pallet furnitures. thank you for sharing!

I liked the thought of painting afterward so that it could set without being handled. I think I collected about 10-12 pallets and used pieces from almost all of them.
Hi Angela. Love love love your DIY. So much so that I am in the middle making making it right now. I’m in San Antonio and the virus is going on, so I have plenty of time right now. But I do have a question. How did you put the wood block legs on? I watch your video over and over, and I also have a brad nailer. But when I’m doing it, it not really secure and I’m able to just pull it right off. Any suggestions please!!!!!!
We used 2 to 3 nails on each side of the leg. We shot them at an angle into the base of the sectional. It was very secure. You could also use Gorilla wood glue to hold it in place while you nail. This stuff is really strong and could hold it without nails. We didn’t need it, so I don’t remember using any.

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I’m very glad to see such fantastic information being shared freely out there.

Has the hot glue held up in the outdoor weather on the cushions?
Hi Aubrey. It’s held up so far, although I bring the cushions in during the winter months and/or very bad weather.

How do you water proof the cushion?
The cushion is foam. I didn’t waterproof the foam cushion, just the fabric. I believe I used Scotchguard.
You can use waterproof fabric spray like Scotchgard.
