Step 8.

Trace the width of the picture frame and then down 1 1/2. We are created the border of the shelf. Your piece should be (width x 1 1/2). You will need 3 of these pieces.

Trace the length of the picture frame and then down 1 1/2. We are created the border of the shelf. Your piece should be (length x 1 1/2). You will need 2 of these pieces.

Step 10.

Cut out the traced the length and width pieces for the shelves. The should be 1 1/2 in depth.

Let’s layout our pieces. The cut out shelf pieces should look similar to this.

Step 12.

Next, take your pieces and cut 45 degree angles on the edges of 2 of the width pieces and 2 of the length pieces. You should have 1 width piece left untouched for the shelf.

Step 13.

They don’t have to be perfect 45 degree angles, but your ends should look similar to this.

Step 14.

With your black mark, color in anything white. If you omit this step, it will stand out like a sore thumb.
