Goodwill Bar Cart Makeover – Thrift Store DIY
I searched for an old cart that I could transform into a bar cart for quite some time. I had even visited this Goodwill a few times before. So, could you imagine my excitement when I walked in and found the perfect cart. I dragged that thing all over the store with me because I refused to let it out of my site 😂🙈.
Here I’m sharing the transformation. Hope you enjoy.
Let us get started with supplies:
DURATION: 3 hrs | MY COST: apprx. $40 | DIFFICULTY: EASY

- Bar Cart | $13 – Goodwill
- Cut Glass| $15 – Lowes
- Marble Contact Paper | $11 – Amazon
- Gold Spray Paint
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Ruler
- Screw Driver
- Utility Knife
- Painters Tape
- Hot Glue Gun with Glue sticks
- Sewing Pins
- Scissors
- Level

Let’s begin the steps:
I purchased this cart from the Goodwill for
I clean off any stickers
I used Rust-oleum Metallic spray paint in Gold. By far the best gold spray paint in my opinion.
I spray painted all pieces in gold, including wheels, bolts.
Making sure to tape the bottom of the wheels befor spray paitning.
I am covering the bottom shelf with self adhesive marble print contact paper.
Now I begin the assembly
For the top shelf, I’m using a custom piece of cut glass from Lowes.
That’s it guys. Here are a few pictures of the finish barcart.

These kinds of things are so great if you’re living in a small flat with no storage. I’ve meaning to buy one, but I think I’ll go thrifting instead.
LOL. If you are up for a little work, thrifting is the way to go. Not only do you save money but you can customize it however you please. 🙂

There is a booth at Lowe’s where they will cut glass and mirror for you that you purchase from them. It’s sorta tucked away and you will need to ask for someone to help you. Check with customer service at your Lowe’s
