5 Budget-Friendly DIYs for Fall
Glitter Acorns
Last up is the easiest of all 5 projects as well as a fun one to do with kiddos. Since you don’t have to purchase acorns, if you have the other items, it could be a cost-free craft. I think this is my favorite out of the bunch. The acorns are so cute anyway, but to add glitter AHHHH!!!. Enough, enough, let’s get started…
Step 1:
First of all. Take a walk around your neighborhood or a local park and gather as many acorns as possible. You want to make sure each acorn has it’s little top.
Step 2:
Next, I washed the acorns with soap, water, and bleach. I separate the acorn from its top and laid them on a piece of foil and baked in the oven on 200-degrees for about 3hrs. This will kill any bugs on them.
Step 3:
Allow to cool, then spray paint the tops gold.
Step 4:
Next, I separated the acorns into 3 piles because I will be using 3 different glitter colors.
Step 5:
Next, I sprayed the acorns with spray adhesive and dipped into glitter until covered
Step 6:
I do this for the other two colors and set aside to dry.
Step 7:
Finally, I hot-glue the tops back onto the acorn.
Step 8:
Once dry, you will have created this glam fall decoration. I put mine into a clear glass vase to display and actually keep them out all year long.
And that’s a wrap. I hope you enjoyed my five fall crafts. Have fun creating them for your home.
