How To Decorate a Small Front Porch
Step 3.
I can’t know why I was so determined to have a bench on this small porch but, I stopped at just about every store that I thought would have an outdoor bench. Walmart, Home Goods, TJ Max, Marshalls, Target, Kroger, HEB, Goodwill, several flea markets, Lowes, Home Depot… I could really go on, but you get the point. Even purchased and brought home a few of ’em. Let’s just say, those relationships didn’t work out. Then I had the bright idea to make my own bench with cinder blocks and wood. You guessed it, that didn’t work either.
I was at my whit’s end and ready to give up. I had 1 weekend left to complete this project and besides staining my front door, I hadn’t done anything. Then, as if it were meant to be, during a quick unrelated visit to Big Lots, I stumbled across this beauty. Unfortunately, Big Lots no longer carry this bench. I’ll post a link to a similar bench at the end of the post.
Step 4.
I used a high heat black spray paint. And, after a few coats of black spray paint…
This bench fits perfectly on my porch.

I was wondering how you got the lanterns so cheap? I found the same ones at Home Depot and they are double the price!
Wow really?! I purchased them about 2yrs ago now. But I can’t imagine they’ve increased in prices that much though. I’ll check again for you.

This is adorable! Something right out of HGTV! I so miss having a front porch! It’s the one thing I hate about being in an apartment, but one day I’ll have a house with a porch! 🙂

Ahhh this is super cute! I honestly have never even considering dressing up the front porch aside from a chair to sit out in the sun. I thought this would be a super pricey project, so I’m amazed at how little the transformation cost. Gotta love Ross, Homegoods, etc!

Small porches can be tricky to decorate as they tend to clutter up real quick…your’s looks just perfect. And, I just bought the same lanterns for my living room! I think they are just adorable

The layers & patterns look great! Love that you reused somethings you had AND re purposed somethings you found at an affordable price. Big Lots, Marshalls, Ross are all my go to places when I need a quick redo!
