DIY Christmas Decor – Dollar Tree Snowman
Hey My Loves,
I hope you are all doing well. It feels like Christmas has been in the air for months now, especially since our favorite retail stores have been marketing their Christmas items as early as September. I, on the other hand, waited until the weekend before Thanksgiving to even look at Christmas decoration. Suddenly, I feel like I am a little behind the game with sharing content with you guys. Hopefully I can make up for it over the next few weeks 😬.
Have you begun your preparations for Christmas yet? Leave me a comment below and let me know what you’ve done so far.
So this week I’m sharing how I created these cute little light up snowmen using items from Dollar Tree and other items found around my home. I’ve created a video for this as part of a YouTube collaboration, but it is not availble quite yet. Be sure to follow me at http://bit.ly/AngelaEastTV to be alerted when it posts.
Since the video isn’t scheduled to go live yet, I promised members of the DIY Home Ideas Facebook group that i would create a blog post, so here it is 🤓.
I truly hope you enjoy this DIY. If you decide to recreate it, be sure to share it with me on Instagram at instagram.com/iamangelaeast.
So, without further ado, let us get started with supplies:
DURATION: 1hr | MY COST: apprx. $5 | DIFFICULTY: Easy
“MY COST” may or may not reflect the cost of items that I already own, but I will try to list each item as well as suggestions as to where to purchase them. Items that I had to purchase for the project will be bold with a price. If you have any questions about an item, please leave a comment below.
SUPPLIES:
- Square Mirror Candle Holder | $1.00ea – Dollar Tree
- Shatter Proof Water Globe | $1.00ea – Dollar Tree
- Glass Fish Bowl Globe | $1.00ea – Dollar Tree
- LED Push Light | $1.00ea – Dollar Tree
- Snowflake Stickers | $1.00ea – Dollar Tree
- Frosted Glass Spray Paint – Home Depot has it cheapest
- Paint
- Black Poster Board – Dollar Tree
- Pencil
- Gold and Black Glitter – Dollar Tree
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue
- Scissors
- Gold Tule – Michaels
- Gold Spray Paint
- Black Faux Fur – Joann’s Fabric
- AAA Batteries
- Liqud Gold Leaf Paint – Hobby Lobby
- Paint Brush
- Tupperware Dish
- Spray Adhesive – Hobby Lobby
Let’s begin the steps:

Mirror Candle holder, Shatter proof water globe, Glass tea light globe, and a LED battery operated self-stick push light

I’ve had my spray paint for a while. I purchased this at Hobby Lobby for a whopping $7.99. Save some money and head over to Home Depot where you can find similar paint for around $4.00

I found a piece of scrap faux fur around the house. I cut it to about 2×6 inHot glue and fold in half to make fluffier

Draw and paint a face on the head of your dry globes. Have fun with this. Let your creativity gene shine.

Make sure you DO NOT hot glue the snowman to the base (mirror). You need to be able to lift it to turn on and off the light
And that’s it guys. Enjoy a few more pictures of my snowmen in their new home 😊.
Guess what!? I’ve created a YouTube video for this post. If you have time, check it out. While you’re there subscribe, because I’d love to have you?

I visited your page, thinking you would also have directions for the mice also, they are so cute, if you could post directions for them I’d be very grateful, or did I miss them somewhere??
Hmmm not sure where you saw mice. I haven’t done any projects with them, but it’s not a bad idea
You did that. This is so original and not the same old thing. I love it. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I’m so glad you liked it 🤗🤗
These snowmen are so original. wish we had a dollar store here (Ireland) but I’ll keep an eye out for similar products and maybe next year attempt these. Your instructions are so clear.
Thank you for posting.
