Hey My Loves,
I’m back with the reveal of my dining room for the #1room30day challenge. I am super stoked to be sharing this room’s transformation with you guys. I’ve done a lot with my home in the few years we’ve been here and this, by far, was one of the more fun projects I’ve completed. I hope you enjoy the reveal.
Before I get started, if you have not read the kick-off post to this project and you want to see the before pictures of this room, please view it here: PROJECT: #1ROOM30DAYS KICKOFF: DINING ROOM MAKEOVER.
In the Kick-Off post I listed the following items as a few of the tasks I wanted to tackle for during this challenge. I’m happy to announce that I did nearly everything that I set out to do.
I love purple walls, but I’m truly entertaining changing the color.
I definitely need to re-organize the room.
I know I need to re-arrange the furniture around or even replace it.
I should probably add some drapes and a rug.
Maybe I’ll even add foliage (Faux of course, cause Lord knows I am not good with live plants)
The tasks that I didn’t complete are:
Painting – I decided not to paint as part of this project. But I am still considering changing the color of this room.
Dining Chair Re-upholstering – I still plan to, I just have no real direction. If/when I decide to take on this task, I’ll take you guys on that journey with me.
Overall, I think I exceeded my expectations of what I thought I would get done.
Well enough talking about it already, let me show you the room!
We’re going to start this tour off at my buffet that I have setup as a drink station. I’ve had this IKEA buffet for nearly a decade and, though it’s starting to show some wear, it’s still in pretty good shape. The Kirklands canvas art paintings are the exact same piece with one flipped upside down. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to have them framed for this project, but it will definitely happen soon. If you are interested in seeing how they turn out, I’ll more than likely post them on Instagram @iamangelaeast. So be sure to follow me there.
To the left of the buffet, I have this set up. The conversation piece would have to be the wine glasses. They don’t have a base! You can just fill them up right in the holder. Your guest will grab a full glass and return the empty glass to the same location. I know, AWESOME RIGHT?!! I added a pop of color with fresh flowers and a bottle of Korbel Champagne from the grocer. Like, what’s a setup like this without a bottle of bubbly. Really?!
The right side of the buffet is my favorite side. It reminds me of all of the cute little pictures that you see and love on Pinterest with the straws and all. LOL. But really, my goal with this was to make it as pretty as possible with as little money as possible. And, I am happy to announce that it only cost me a tray, two martini glasses, and a bottle of Nuvo, which BTW I have no idea what it is but can’t wait to crack it open.
Next to the buffet, I have a glass curio stationed in the corner. This wall was really lacking something, and this curio was a perfect way to both fill the space and decorate the room. I’ve placed an over-sized vase at the top just to give the illusion of height.
The wall directly across from the curio is where the buffet sat. Now that it has been moved to another wall, I’m able to add some art. I chose three starburst mirrors last minute. I wasn’t sure if I would keep them, but they have truly grown on me.
So, I’m finally heading over to the dining room table. I will start with this silver vase filled with these cute pink flowers.
The vase is apprx 22 in. tall and the flowers are so long they touch the chandelier. Yep, just enough to add some drama.
This dining room table is the epitome of glam. The gold finished metal base with the “starburst” legs and glass top paired with that gold fur rug screams Hollywood!!!
Here’s a side view. I made the gold leaf canvas art a while ago and they happen to fit perfectly there in the room. On the table I have two sets of candle holders, six place settings, two glass dome cupcake stands, and a few decorative dinner ware pieces.
So for the place settings, I’m using a gold beaded place mat, a champagne colored sparkle charger, and a dining plate and saucer with gold scrolls. I topped four of the saucers with silver glitter tulle bow with glass beads.
The two plates at either end of the table are topped with gold glitter tulle wrapped into a cotton candy shape.
So that’s it guys. My dining room make-over. This was a fun project definitely kept me motivated and inspired. I will for sure be participating in the #1room30day challenge again.
If you are interested in participating in the next challenge, please contact Alaya at Behind the Big Green Door to get signed up. She will be hosting a new challenge in June and August. 🙂
BTW, the Pink Pillow is hand made by me and will be one of the home decor accessories that I’ll have available in my store soon. So please check back, because I really need you guy’s support.
Please enjoy a few more pictures of my dining room.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour around my dining room. If so, please share with your friends and family. I hope to see you back soon. Now I can crack open the DRANK!!! Hahaha! So, until next time, be blessed and take care.

Wooooooooooow! So glam, so chic! I love that plate on your buffet that is gold and pink! What a great DIY and I love artwork! Everything is beautiful! Thank you for participating in the challenge, I hope to have u back for more!
Great job Angela! Love the artwork and your photos are styled so lovely!! Can’t wait to see if/when you reupholster the chairs, but they work within the space now.
Thank you Erin. Yeah, I think that’s the only reason I didn’t press to get them re-upholstered for this challenge. I still like the black and white chairs. But I may still do the end chairs. Hope we can keep in touch. Are you planning on participating in June’s challenge?
Angela, this looks fabulous…you’ve done a great job and have a great eye for decorating.
Thank you Sherry. I’m so glad you like it.

I’m new to your site. Everything is amazing! I don’t know if you’ve changed anything in your dining room. I think you should keep the purple. If you feel it might be too much, just paint the bottom half of wall white. Also, those chairs are great! Don’t reupholster, they mimic your awesome black and white painting!
Hey thanks for the suggestions. I have not changed the purple yet. But I do have plans on painting black only because I dislike how the purple photographs. I do like the black and white chairs. Just want to change the style of the actual chair so I know the fabric won’t fit.
